James Monroe, President of the United States of America : to all to whom these presents shall come, greeting : land grant form, 1817 November 29.

Land grant dated November 29, 1817 to James C. Smith: "... a Warrant in his favour, numbered 5233 there is granted unto the said James C. Smith late a private in Harris's company of Light Dragoons a certain tract of land, containing one hundred and sixty acres being in the southeast quarter of section thirtysix of township seven north in range four west in the tract appropriated ... in the territory of Illinois."
